Personal Bio
Rachael was born in Spokane Washington to Chris and Heidi Cochran on June 26, 1995. She was born into a family of pastors. Her father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all pastors at one time or another. At the time she was born Rachael’s family lived in Spokane, but shortly after she was born they moved across the Idaho border to Post Falls, ID. There her dad and grand father (papa, as he was called) worked together in a small church.
Rachael pretty much grew up in church. From sunday school, to wednesday night children’s church, she loved attending church events. It was there that Rachael’s “Luck Streak” first appeared. Rachael has always been a very “lucky” person. If there is a contest to win that involves chance, she will most likely be the winner. It started in children’s church, where somehow, she always sat in the “Lucky Seat” (which was chosen by random drawing) winning each week’s prize. She actually won so many times that the leaders would draw her name and then draw a second name.
Spending her early childhood in Post Falls, Rachael’s family spent quite a bit of time outdoors. Camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking were regularly a part of their lives. Rachael developed a love for fishing and hiking.
At the age of 5 Rachael’s dad took a job as a pastor in Seattle, WA where he grew up. Leaving her papa was one of the hardest things she had to do at the tender young age of 5, as she was especially close to him. The adventure that awaited her in the “big city” however, was equally as exciting.
By this time Rachael, her older sister Riley, and her younger brother Michael, were very close. They became the best of friends!
Spending the second part of her childhood in Seattle was also a blessing. There were so many activities as well as opportunities to play sports, attend professional sporting events, concerts and she was still able to participate in many of the outdoor activities she grew to love in Idaho.
Rachael’s “lucky streak” continued throughout her childhood. She once found a wallet on the side of the road. She won an iPod in a Magazine Sale Contest in Middle School (she only sold one magazine subscription and so barely qualified for the drawing!), it seemed that her luck would never run out.
At 12 years old however, Rachael’s luck did run out when her beloved papa passed away of a sudden heart attack. Rachael was devastated, but found solace in her close-knitt family, her faith, and the sport she had grown to love: Softball.
Today Rachael is an outgoing, 16 year old, with a wicked sense of humor, a passion for her hometown of Seattle, and a passion for School and Softball.
